Many of you have told us that you have been checking our blog often. Thanks for being so faithful and interested in our journey. We haven't posted in a while because we haven't had any news. January 24th was the 8-month mark since our paperwork was filed in China, so God willing, we should be hearing something in the next few weeks, barring any further delays.Waiting families are given the advice to stay busy. Believe me, that's not hard for us. Each month on the calendar seems to fill up quickly. But even with our busy-ness, the adoption is always in the forefront of our minds.
One thing in particular that has kept us busy is preparing the nursery. It's nearing completion. The image above is a shot of some of the painting I've been doing on the walls. We decided to go with a garden theme, so there's a few small murals around the room with flowers and butterflies.

Hey Kurt,
We saw your mom last Saturday at my brother's house (they had a party for Derrick - he left for the Army on Monday night), and we were talking about you guys and your blog. Thanks for the update and the great picture - maybe I can commission you some day to paint a mural for me - Ha!! Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and I think of you often.
