We went to see our pediatrician the day after the referral arrived to show her all the paperwork we received. Aidan seems to be small for his age and may need several surgeries over time for his cleft palate. As a result of this, he will probably need extra therapies and dental work over the years. We will also have to deal with more language issues since Aidan has had two years of hearing Chinese as opposed to the 10 months that Lily had. Also, with an older child we will have to be more sensitive about attachment and bonding issues.
We're overjoyed at the thought of Aidan joining our family. We ask for your prayers as we continue on this journey to get him, and prayers for Aidan as he waits for us.

I am SO happy for your family! Aiden is so blessed to be in our family! Will it be Christmas Time?
There is a remote possibility, but more than likely it will be after the new year.
He is handsome! How wonderful. We will keep you in our prayers.
He is a very handsome boy. You are so blessed and so is Aiden. Will talk to you later.
Love you all. Rose Jones
Wow! What an ordeal we just went through to leave you this message. I spoke to your mom today and she told me the good news. Sidney and I spent an hour looking at your Blog and all of the wonderful pictures. Sidney truly enjoyed it and asked a million questions. Aaron came in and we shared the news with him too. What a blessed little boy! I imagine Lily is excited about having a little brother soon. We will keep checking your Blog for updates...now that we can get in. :)
Love,
Aunt Karen, Sidney, and Aaron
P.S. Kai Nui is the name of my sailboat--if you were wondering.
He is a cutie...
About the language issue, I know many many children that were adopted as toddlers that jumped right into English and refused to speak any Chinese once home with their forever families. Just something you might want to know!

Thanks, Kay...and by the way, we have your book, ready to read on the nightstand!
Congratulations! I am an adoptive mom from a little boy, also cleft affected from Dongguan. We brought him a year ago this month. Hope you travel quickly!
